The T1255III surface miner direct drive offers both a dual drive and single-sided attachment that pack the power you need to take on tough civil and surface mining projects. The unique single-sided attachment allows the operator to cut an 80-degree high wall and produces less noise, dust and vibration – helping mines to increase production by excavating reserves they might not otherwise get to due to drill and blast restrictions, air quality regulations or urban encroachment.

• Cab Enclosure: The updated cab comes equipped with a swivel seat, trainer seat, tinted Lexan windows, filtered and pressurized incoming air, heater, air conditioner, and sound attenuating foam. | These cab features contribute to greater operator comfort.
• Elevating ROPM Cab: This machine features an elevating Rollover Protective Module (ROPM) cab. The cab is equipped with pressurized/filtered air and is climate controlled for operator comfort. An AM/FM stereo with weather band radio is also available. | The elevating ROPM cab offers increased operator visibility of the trench and the machine. The cab folds for easier transportation. The pressurized/filtered air, heat/air conditioning, and optional radio can offer greater comfort for the operator in all types of conditions.
• Forged Risers: One-piece weld-on forging | One-piece forging eliminates the weld between the skin saver and the riser, reducing time spent replacing worn components.
• High Wall Capability: 80º high wall capability. | Using a single-drive motor to power the drum allows for the ability to cut an 80° high wall compared to the 45° high wall when using the dual drive attachment.
• Improved Edge Cutter Design: Improved pattern and wear protection of the edge cutters. | Replaceable edge protection helps protect the edge cutters, and the outside-inside repeating patterns can help improve pocket life on the attachment.
• New Drum Attachment Design: Heavy-duty drum adds more weight to the attachment. | By using a 2.5” (6.4 cm) drum skin, the overall weight of the attachment increased to help improve attachment life in hard rock cutting conditions.
• Option of Tier 3 or Tier 4 Final Emission Certified Engine: This machine uses a Caterpillar C18 ACERT Tier 3 certified engine or Tier 4 Final certified engine. | This machine meets all current EPA and EU emission standards and meets Caterpillar application requirements.
• Remote Attachment Control (RAC): The standard RAC allows the operator to remotely start and stop the engine, raise/lower the boom, and slowly rotate the chain to observe the cutters – during maintenance or service – while standing away from the digging chain. | This allows the operator easier digger chain and tooth maintenance.
