• • Adjustable chip size: The drum and cutter knife design allows for two different knife positions resulting in different chip sizes. | Adjustable chip size allows one machine to provide different end products to meet end-use requirements.
  • Chain tensioning system: The infeed conveyor chains are able to be individually tensioned. | The WC2300XL infeed conveyor features individually tensioned chains to accommodate unequal chain wear, allowing the operator to replace a single chain at a time.

  • Discharge chute: The discharge chute can be raised by ratcheting the chute upward. | The discharge chute feature allows debris in the chute to be easily cleaned.
  • Double pivot chute: The chute on the WC2300XL features a side-to-side sweep up to 14 degrees left and 14 degrees right and can be raised up to 22 degrees or lowered 14 degrees. | The double-pivot chute allows the contractor to adjust the chute either vertically or horizontally to achieve the right angle for optimum trailer loading.   • EcoIdle engine control system: Operator can select the EcoIdleTM engine control system function, which automatically lowers engine speed to 1400 rpm if no material has been chipped for 30 seconds. Engine speed automatically increases if feed roller climbs up onto new material or engine detects a change in loading. | The EcoIdle engine control system can help consume less fuel if feeding process has frequent interruptions.

  • Infeed system: Infeed system includes variable-speed dual-infeed conveyor chains, conveyor head pulley with integral grip bars, sloped infeed table and aggressive infeed roller with crush capability. | These design elements provide efficient feeding of difficult material types reducing the number of times an operator has to manipulate the material.
  • Machine lift points: Four lift points on machine. | With four lift points, the machine is equipped for level, easy lifting with a crane.
  • Optional artic pack: For cold climates, the programmable timer can be set to warm the engine coolant, hydraulic oil and fuel before the operator arrives at the jobsite. | Warming of the fluids prior to jobsite arrival helps to reduce normal warmup periods.

Remote control: Machine functions can be controlled remotely. | The convenient remote control enables a user to operate the WC2300XL from another location – such as the cab of another machine. The remote control also provides real-time machine performance data to aid the operator in maximizing productivity by monitoring and adjusting settings.

• Replaceable wear components: High-wear material flow areas of the machine, such as drum knife pockets, discharge chute, cutter housing and infeed conveyor floor are designed with replaceable wear parts. | Replaceable parts reduce maintenance time, and replacing wear components as recommended helps extend machine life.
• Skidder grab: The tongue of the WC2300XL is equipped with a grapple grip collar area allowing a skid loader to pick up the tongue and move the machine to a new location on the jobsite. Brake system includes extra air tank capacity and a brake release valve to allow the parking brakes to be released without hookup to a standard tow vehicle. | The whole tree chipper can be moved around the jobsite easily with a skidder grab that allows a log skidder to position or reposition the machine with ease.
• Sloped infeed table: Six-degree sloped infeed table lowers the “breakover” point where long material first contacts the machine. | Provides smooth flow of long material from the ground up onto the infeed table and reduces the likelihood of limbs or tree canopy from snagging on the end of the machine.
• SmartCrush: Machine monitors position and down pressure of infeed roller. Down pressure is minimized until feed roller has climbed up onto material then increases to push difficult material with forks or large limbs to the cutter drum. | Feed roller easily climbs up and onto material to start feeding process, then automatically increases down pressure. With material securely gripped by infeed system, the operator can release grapple and concentrate on next load of material.
• SmartFeed: SmartFeed is a patented feedsensing control system which monitors engine rpm and automatically stops and reverses feed roller and infeed conveyor when feeding larger, hardwood material. SmartFeed also senses feed roller jams and responds by automatically shifting material back and forth. Operators can select from three preset setting or program a fourth option from the remote control. | The exclusive Vermeer SmartFeed system helps increase operator productivity and reduces strain on vital engine parts. With four selectable rpm settings, the system offers improved versatility for varying applications. By controlling material jams, the need for grapple loader manipulation is reduced.
• Work light control: Work lights can be controlled from the remote control. | When backing a trailer up to the chipper the operator can shut off the work lights via the remote, allowing the truck driver to back up to the chipper without vision interference from the work lights, but the operator of the machine can turn on the lights and see in the trailer while filling via the remote.
