VX200 Mega Vacuum Excavator

The VX200 truck-mounted vacuum excavator features a 200hp power pack, 1200 to 3000-gallon spoil tanks, 6-inch hose, and 3,200-cfm @ 18 inches of mercury.

The VX200 truck-mounted vacuum excavator range has spoil tank capacities ranging from 1,200 to 3,000 gallons, and a standard option of 800 gallons of freshwater. It has a 6-inch hose diameter with a 3,200-cfm blower at 18 inches of mercury. The tank, power pack, and water system all have a modular design, allowing contractors to mount the Vac unit on either a new or a repurposed truck chassis.

The Mega VX200 is powered by a 200-horsepower John Deere Tier 3 engine and features the McLaughlin three-stage cyclonic filtration system that allows both wet and dry vacuum excavation and, according to Vermeer, prolongs filter life to help keep maintenance costs low. The machine also uses the patented McLaughlin cam-over-hydraulic rear door that is designed to provide a positive 360-degree seal without additional clamping requirements, keeping fluids securely in the debris tank.

The Vermeer VX200 Mega Vacuum Excavator is a high-capacity, truck-mounted vacuum excavation solution designed for utility, civil and infrastructure projects where safe and efficient non-destructive digging (NDD) is essential.

Powered by a 200 hp John Deere Tier 3 diesel engine, the VX200 delivers strong, reliable performance through a 3,200 cfm dual oil bath Roots™ blower producing 18 inches of mercury, paired with a 6-inch vacuum hose for high-volume material removal. This enables faster excavation, improved productivity and reduced job completion times across potholing, trenching and daylighting applications.

The VX200 range offers spoil tank capacities from 1,200 to 3,000 gallons with a standard 800-gallon freshwater system, supporting longer operating cycles on site. Its modular tank, power pack and water system design allows mounting on either new or repurposed truck chassis, maximising fleet flexibility.

Featuring the McLaughlin three-stage cyclonic filtration system for wet and dry excavation, the VX200 helps extend filter life and reduce maintenance costs. The patented cam-over hydraulic rear door provides a positive 360-degree seal, keeping fluids and debris securely contained during transport and dumping.

  • 3,200 cfm Dual Oil Bath Roots™ Blower @ 18 inHg: Delivers powerful, consistent suction for faster excavation, allowing operators to remove heavier materials efficiently and complete jobs sooner.
  • 200 hp John Deere Tier 3 Diesel Power Pack: Provides reliable performance in demanding utility and civil environments while reducing downtime and simplifying maintenance.
  • 6-inch Vacuum Hose Diameter: Moves more material per pass, increasing productivity and enabling larger non-destructive excavation tasks.
  • Three-Stage Cyclonic Filtration System: Allows both wet and dry excavation while extending filter life, reducing maintenance requirements and lowering operating costs compared to baghouse systems.
  • Sectioned Hydraulic Boom with 270° Rotation: Maintains hose length and airflow during extension, reducing blockages and improving efficiency on extended-reach excavation jobs.
  • Wireless Full-Function Remote Control: Enables safer, one-person operation with improved visibility, machine control and reduced labour requirements.
  • Modular Skid-Mounted Design: Allows installation on new or repurposed truck chassis, maximising fleet flexibility and protecting capital investment.
  • Spoil Tank Capacity Options (1,000–11,400 L): Supports longer working cycles between dumping, improving productivity on large or remote projects.
  • Freshwater Capacity up to 3,028 L (800 gal): Reduces refill frequency and supports continuous high-pressure excavation throughout the workday.
  • 10 gpm @ 3,000 psi Water Pump: Provides effective cutting power for compacted soils while maintaining precision around live utilities.
  • Dual Spoil Tank Shut-Off (Electric & Manual): Protects the blower and filtration system, reducing the risk of damage and costly repairs.
  • Low Water Shut-Off System: Prevents pump damage and improves machine longevity during extended operation.
  • Cam-Over Hydraulic Rear Door with 360° Seal: Ensures a secure, leak-free seal without additional clamps, improving safety and speeding up spoil discharge.
  • Utility & Infrastructure-Focused Design: Ideal for water, gas, electrical, fibre and civil works where safe, non-destructive excavation is critical.
